Here we go...

This summer, I finished a PhD in experimental physics at the University of Colorado, and received several offers in Europe for post-doc positions.  Although these are all good options for me, my heart is calling in different directions.

I'll be taking the year of 2011 (maybe longer) to travel the world, teach physics in Korea, and connect within and with people and nature on this planet.  Last night I bought plane tickets to Costa Rica, Fiji, and New Zealand.  So it now feels official.  I'll start on the first of the year, and be in Korea mid-February.  It's a frenzy getting ready, and there is so much to do here in Boulder before leaving!  I am wrapping up my course, Physics for Future Presidents, and my research project.  I leave Boulder December 23.  I want to make every minute count!

You can view some of my nerdy spreadsheets here:
A list of the items that I will bring with

I'll be teaching undergraduates and maybe a graduate seminar in ultrafast optics at Yeungnam University in Daegu (It's in southeast Korea).  After Korea, things are up in the air.  But my hope is that I'll be going west from there...
